Tool Shed with Dovecote

I dearly love this small timbered outbuilding with so many wonderful architectural details. Dovecote, cupola, timber frame decoration, interesting roofline, and goats too! Found on Pinterest.

Are the arched-holes for ventilation or individual birdhouses?

I love it too, Rosemary---oddly enough for its color too.

I wonder if it's a tool shed.

That is so adorable. I love half timbered buildings. I wonder if the cupola was added later? I suppose a dovecote was necessary long ago in the total absence of grocery stores. If hunting was poor, there was always dinner via the dovecote I guess.

Catherine -- I think the cupola is original because it provides light in the building with no windows.

Gail....the arches are openings for birds to nest. I'm not sure if there are interior partitions or not. I like the color too.

I'd love this structure in my yard, not to mention the goats. :-)

Karen...I feel the same way. I could use a herd of goats right now to eat some weeds and long grass.
